Montgomery COUNTY

I had the privilege of participating in a compelling panel discussion during the African Heritage Month Proclamation Celebration at the Silver Spring Civic Center, organized by the Montgomery County African Affairs Advisory Group (AAAG).

The esteemed panelists included Remi Duyile, Ivo Tasong, Jewru Bandeh, Kadmiel Van Der Puije, Keyna Aniyam, and Yoseph Zerihun. Each panelist brought a unique perspective to the conversation, where we celebrated the rich tapestry of African heritage and culture.

My focus during this enlightening discussion was on the vital importance of youth and adult mentorship, as well as the role of amplifying African voices through my platforms. It was a heartfelt exploration of how mentorship can empower the next generation and how platforms like mine can be harnessed to raise the voices of African communities, fostering unity, understanding, and appreciation among all communities. It was an honor to be part of this celebration and contribute to these meaningful conversations.
